Terese (she/her) is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in environmental and political science at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Currently the President of local climate group Singapore Youth for Climate Action (SYCA), she also represented SYCA as a youth delegate in international conferences such as COP27 and RCOY (Asia and the Pacific). As part of coordinated efforts to represent diverse voices from the environmental community at COP27, she co-edited the inter-environmental group Green SG Policy Paper and interviewed climate activists from the Most Affected Peoples and Areas (MAPA). Organising the Local Conference of Youths (LCOY) and Keeping Up with Climate Policy workshops also helped enable stronger communication between the government and youths. In addition, as a Core Mobilizing Team Member of Youth 4 Ecocide Law (under Stop Ecocide International), Terese also engages in advocacy efforts to raise awareness on ecocide law. With five years of volunteering experience in the environmental / climate scene, Terese has engaged in many forms of advocacy, from organising campaigns to fundraising to facilitating workshops. Her current interest lies in using the power of the law to create spaces for climate justice and raising awareness of a regional and international just transition.
