Joanna is the CEO and founder of Arukah, a Singapore-based developer of institutional biochar and biogas projects from waste, including Southeast Asia’s largest biochar plant. Arukah allocates 50% of carbon credit revenue to farmer earnings - with measurable project performance improvement, and pioneered the world’s first Gold Standard-approved digital MRV for an ICVCM and CORSIA-aligned biogas methodology. Formerly Head of Asia at Figure Technologies (NSDQ:FIGR), Joanna began her career in private equity at Morgan Stanley and Keppel Corporation, where she was involved in first time regional business builds and green finance initiatives. She serves on the UN Sanitation and Hygiene Fund’s impact investment committee and has been an independent director for Collectius, a World Bank IFC partner for Southeast Asian distressed asset recovery. Joanna holds degrees from Harvard, Stanford, and Cambridge.
