Jair Smits is Global Lead Nature+ at Witteveen+Bos, working at the intersection of water, nature, climate resilience and sustainable development. After more than a decade working across Southeast Asia, he has developed a systems-thinking approach to complex challenges, looking beyond individual projects to understand how environmental, social and economic systems interact. Jair believes in actionable leadership: demonstrating what is possible through practical projects, learning from what works, and using those experiences to build momentum and scale impact. His work focuses on turning the ambition for nature-positive and climate-resilient development into solutions that can be applied in practice.
