Founder @ AngkasPassionate about solving real-world problems and improving people's lives.
Angeline Tham is a serial entrepreneur from Singapore who is passionate about solving real-world problems and improving people's lives. She founded Angkas in 2016 to address the numerous social impacts of traffic congestion in the Philippines. The ride-hailing app not only provided affordable and effective transportation solutions for public commuters, but it also contributed to the economic growth of accredited partner riders and small business owners in the country. She is a staunch advocate of motorcycle safety and rights. This includes taking steps to regulate the country's motorcycle taxi industry which will be able to create more motorcycle-related businesses. Tham aspires to be a catalyst for digital transformation in the local and international arenas through her passion for technology and startup development. She wishes to promote innovation by assisting Filipinos with an entrepreneurial mindset and to establish a business ecosystem that encourages collaboration and recognizes creativity and ingenuity in order to benefit the community. This is apparent to what Angkas has achieved over the years. With over 30,000 biker-partners and over 7 million app downloads, her vision of inclusive mobility led to Angkas becoming the most popular ride-hailing and delivery service app for motorcycles in the Philippines. It also has a 99.97% safety record, and the training they developed for their partner bikers has served as the foundation for the government's Basic Motorcycle Program, which aims to professionalize formal biker training.
