This module explores the fundamentals of a green economy, why it matters, and how businesses and societies can transition toward sustainability. Through a structured framework of education, strategy, action, and collaboration, we examine real-world case studies of innovative business models driving change across industries.

By the end of this course, students will be able to understand key concepts related to biodiversity, identify essential information relevant to businesses, and analyze how biodiversity impacts corporate activities, risk awareness, and companies’ responsibilities toward broader stakeholders.
You will get a glimpse into the theoretical foundations of sustainability. You will understand the concept of stewardship and see why it is a natural fit for family businesses. You will also see how it demonstrated itself in action, through e.g. FBSD (Family Business for Sustainable Development) initiative, and the real case of Jebsen & Jessen and GMA Garnet, one of the companies in the larger Jebsen & Jessen’s portfolio.
