By replenishing aquifers, the project ensures sustainable water solutions and helps mitigate the impact of climate change on agriculture and local livelihoods.

Corporate Affairs and Communications Director @ T.C. Pharmaceutical Industries Company
Thailand's river basins face severe water management issues due to climate change, resulting in droughts and floods. These challenges significantly impact agriculture and local livelihoods, depleting surface and groundwater resources. TCP's project aims to address these issues while supporting local economies and community well-being.
Launched in 2019, "TCP Embracing Thailand's River Basin" brings TCP and expert partners together to develop sustainable water solutions in the Bang Pakong, Yom and Mekong River Basins. The project focuses on conserving both surface and underground water through the Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) technique, with Nonsri Sub-district, Prachinburi Province, selected for its ideal geological conditions. By replenishing aquifers, the project ensures long-term water security and helps mitigate the impacts of climate change on local communities.
As a major player in Thailand's beverage industry, TCP recognises its responsibility for sustainable water management. The project aligns with the company’s “Energizing a Better World for All” mission and aims to achieve net water-positive status by 2030, returning more clean water to communities than it consumes in production.
TCP’s project goes beyond water management. It not only addresses environmental concerns but also creates economic opportunities for local communities.
By leveraging the MAR method, over 17 million cubic metres of water have been replenished, benefiting more than 40,000 households across three river basins.
The project plays a dual role: supporting the company’s sustainability goals and improving community resilience. TCP’s commitment to sustainable growth has set it apart, making it a pioneer in water resource conservation in Thailand’s beverage industry.
Looking ahead, TCP plans to expand the scope of its water management efforts. Nonsri Sub-district will become a learning centre for aquifer recharge, inspiring other regions to adopt similar strategies. By 2030, TCP aims to achieve its net water-positive goal, contributing to Thailand's water security and biodiversity conservation. Additionally, TCP is preparing for global certification from the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) to ensure its practices meet international water management standards.
TCP’s commitment to sustainable water management underscores its role as a leader in Thailand's fight against climate-induced water challenges. Through ongoing innovation, collaboration with local communities and dedication to environmental stewardship, TCP is ensuring that its operations drive both business success and societal well-being.
T.C. Pharmaceutical Industries Company Limited (TCP) is a leading producer and distributor of beverages, including the world-renowned Red Bull brand. Through initiatives like "Embracing Thailand’s River Basin," TCP is driving sustainable water management, supporting local communities, and fostering environmental stewardship across its operations.
