Angel Mata-Jamilan is known for being one of the Filipina advocates of sustainable living. A teacher by profession, in 2017 she started a blog to document her day-to-day attempts at "zero waste" and the progress in reducing her own "impact" on the planet. She has inspired people on multiple platforms since then. On Instagram she has over 7,800 followers and her Facebook page has more than 26,000 likes to-date. She has been invited by several organizations to speak about her journey, among them are the organizers of Miss Earth Philippines 2018 and the office of the President in Malacanang. She was also one of the Spring 2020 Academic Fellows on Environmental Issues and Natural Resource Management at the University of Montana in Montana, U.S.A. At the moment, she is pursuing her Master in Business Administration in Sustainability Management in Universitas Gadjah Mada in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
